Our History
Terrace Manor Convalescent and Geriatric Care Home was originally built in 1962, by Dr. Ralph Ward. Mr. Don Henry was the Administrator and Ms. Susie Waide was the Director of Nursing. The facility was licensed as a 43-bed nursing home.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Waide purchased the facility shortly thereafter. In 1963 Mr. and Ms. Roland Wade bought half interest in the facility. Mr. Roland Wade became the Administrator and served in that capacity for approximately 25 years. In 1976, Mr. and Mrs. Wade bought the remaining interest in the facility.
In September 1982, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Wade purchased half interest of the facility and in October 1991 the couple purchased the remaining interest of the facility. Mr. Phillip Wade became the facility’s administrator at that time.
Between 1992 and 2000, a complete renovation was done to the entrance of the facility to include adding office spaces, residential space, expanding the dining room, the addition of a new laundry building, expansion of the dietary department, addition storage space and adding life safety code improvements such as a sprinkler system and emergency power.
On November 1, 2003 Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Inc. was leased to Terrace Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Inc. At that time the name was changed to reflect the new operating company. All employees, management, and affiliates remained at the facility. Phillip and Sherene Wade own Terrace Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Inc., which is the operating company, as well as Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Inc.
Dr. Wayne P. Hyatt was the Medical Director from 1975 until 1996. At that time, Dr. Kevin Kelly became the new Medical Doctor and still holds that position today. Mr. Philip Wade remains the Administrator and Ms. Cindy Benford is the Director of Nursing.
